Silvia Avallone
Silvia Avallone (born 11 April 1984) is an Italian novelist and poet. Her first novel, Acciaio (2010; published in English as Swimming to Elba) won the Premio Campiello and was a finalist for the Strega Prize. It was adapted to a film of the same name by Stefano Mordini, and into a song and a play. She has published two more novels, and also writes short stories and poetry. Early life. Born in 1984 in Biella, she spent her adolescence in Piombino.
