Where can you listen?

From the Dacian kingdom to the rise of modern Romania, this show traces the turbulent history of a land that has stood at the crossroads of empires. Lucas and Luna guide listeners through the ancient kingdom of Decebalus, the Roman conquest and the birth of Dacia Felix, the migrations of Goths, Huns, and Slavs, and the emergence of the medieval principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia. The story of Vlad Țepeș—the real Dracula—is explored not as vampire legend but as a complex ruler defending his realm against Ottoman expansion. Key episodes cover the Phanariot era, the 1848 revolutions, the unification under Alexandru Ioan Cuza, the Hohenzollern monarchy, and the fight for independence in 1877. The interwar period, the Iron Guard, and the tragic alliance with Nazi Germany lead into the Ceaușescu dictatorship, the 1989 revolution, and the long, contested road to EU membership. Along the way, the show examines Romanian language, Orthodox Christianity, peasant culture, and how national identity has been forged in the shadow of the Ottoman, Habsburg, and Russian empires. Why does Transylvania still stir passions? What is the legacy of Greater Romania? How does a country shaped by Latin roots and Eastern Orthodox faith navigate its place in Europe today? This is a deep dive into a nation that has endured, adapted, and survived against the odds.#Dacia #RomaniaHistory #VladTepes #Dracula #Transylvania #BranCastle #OttomanEmpire #Hohenzollern #CeauEscu #1989Revolution #GreaterRomania #Moldavia #Wallachia #KingdomOfRomania #IronGuard #EasternOrthodox #History #FexingoHistoryKeep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
