Where can you listen?

Subhas Chandra Bose was a firebrand revolutionary who dared to take on the British Empire with an army of former prisoners of war and expatriate Indians. This show traces his journey from a brilliant student in Cuttack to a radical leader within the Indian National Congress, his falling-out with Gandhi over nonviolence, his dramatic escape from house arrest in 1941, and his perilous journey through Afghanistan and the Soviet Union to Nazi Germany. We explore his alliance with the Axis powers, the formation of the Indian National Army (INA) in Southeast Asia, his proclamation of the Provisional Government of Free India in Singapore in 1943, the INA's campaigns in Burma and Imphal, and the enduring mystery of his death in a 1945 plane crash in Taiwan. Lucas and Luna dissect the debates around Bose's wartime choices, his relationship with Hitler and Tojo, the controversial role of the INA in post-war decolonization, and his legacy as a symbol of militant nationalism in India and beyond. Did Bose really die in that crash? We examine the conspiracy theories, the Shah Nawaz Committee report, and the lingering questions that make Bose a historical enigma. This is a story of passion, war, nationalism, and the high cost of freedom.#SubhasChandraBose #IndianNationalArmy #AzadHindFauj #Netaji #IndianIndependenceMovement #WorldWarII #Decolonization #SoutheastAsianHistory #Singapore #BurmaCampaign #ImphalBattle #RevolutionaryNationalism #ConspiracyTheory #ModernIndianHistory #AntiColonialStruggle #History #WorldHistory #FexingoHistoryKeep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
