Where can you listen?
The civilian face of modern conflict: what happened, what’s happening now, and what we can learn.
Sabotaged undersea cables. Drones over airports. Disinformation in your feed. Europe is being asked to “be prepared,” but nobody has said for what. Homefront is here to fill that gap.
Each episode takes something you’ve maybe half-noticed in the news and explains what it means for ordinary people: the ones who live with the consequences, not the generals or the politicians. We draw on history too, looking at how civilians in Sarajevo, Finland, London and elsewhere got through it and what they learned.
Your hosts have done this work on the ground. Luke Irving spent 14 years in the British Army’s Royal Engineers and more than 15 in mine action, and Giuliano Stochino-Weiss has spent a decade in crisis zones and now works in Brussels on hybrid threats and defence technology.
There’s no jargon, no panic and no lectures. You don’t need to know anything about defence to follow along. If you’re curious, you’re in the right place.
Understand it. Question it. Be part of it.
