Where can you listen?

Immerse yourself in the timeless tale of Don Quixote, a groundbreaking Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. First published in two volumes in 1605 and 1615, this work is heralded as the cornerstone of modern Western literature and a defining piece of the Spanish Golden Age. The story follows the eccentric adventures of Mr. Alonso Quixano, a hidalgo whose obsessive reading of chivalric romances drives him to madness. Determined to revive the noble ideals of knighthood, he takes on the persona of Don Quixote de la Mancha and sets out to right wrongs and seek justice, accompanied by his loyal squire, the down-to-earth Sancho Panza. As Don Quixote navigates a world that refuses to conform to his romantic fantasies, Cervantes artfully employs techniques like realism, metatheatre, and intertextuality. This rich narrative has inspired countless authors, leaving its mark on literary giants such as Alexandre Dumas and Mark Twain, while also giving rise to the term quixotic. Celebrated philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer even ranked it among the four greatest novels ever written. Join us on this extraordinary journey through imagination and reality!
